Gardening has been said to be the purest form of pleasure. The benefits we reap from plants are not just aesthetic. Large trees give us shade, screening, fall color, and habitat for wildlife. Small trees give us flowers, fruit, fall color, fragrance, and form. Shrubs give us definition, flowers, fragrance, and curb appeal. Perennials and annuals give the garden texture, color, and an intimate feel. There are infinite benefits of the cultivation of plants in our daily lives. At Southern Outdoor Living and Landscaping, we believe that outdoor living is culminated by the symbiotic relationship we have with plants.

Whether you need a large tree or a small mailbox planting, let us take care of all of your planting needs. We can take your overgrown and outlived foundation plantings and replace them with attractive new ones that will thrive and stay confined to the space given to them. We can revamp any garden small or large. We can plant a vegetable garden so that you can enjoy the benefits of your landscape at your dinner table. If deer are a problem in your area, we can use a pallet of plant material suitable to keep them out. We can plant for screening and erosion control. We can plant for wet or dry areas, sun or shade. We sell and plant large trees, small trees, shrubs, specimen plants, native plants, perennials, annuals, vegetable plants, herbs, bulbs, and groundcovers. Everything we plant is personally selected to ensure the highest quality.

We plant grass too! We can take any yard that is full of weeds and transform it into a crisp, uniform turf area through the installation of new sod. We can treat the existing vegetation with herbicide to kill all the tough weeds. Then we can till all of the existing soil and incorporate quality composted organic matter. Then with some fine grading we’re ready for sod installation. With a little water for the next thirty days the new sod should take root. Once it’s established, the incorporated compost will ensure the long term drought tolerance and well-being of the new turf. We install all types of turf grass: tall fescue, zoysia, centipede, bermuda, and St. Augustine.

Gardening in North Carolina can be challenging with our seasonal changes, but with our experience we choose plants that are well suited to our climate. We guarantee all of our plant material for one year, except for annuals and sod (30 day guarantee).
